Two of the most common styles when filming a wedding video are classic and cinematic. A classic style will be a combination of still tripod shots with minimal camera motion, similar to a documentary film. If you are looking for a straightforward approach with minimal cuts and long shots, this would be the right style for you. A cinematic approach will display more angles and creative sweeping movements more like a music video. The soundtrack will set the theme of this production and the end result is more dramatic. Make sure to discuss with your videographer your vision for your special day.
Bridal portrait – tips and preparations
Here are some tips when preparing for your bridal portraits. Use the same hairstylist and make up artist that you plan to use on your wedding day. Refrain from washing your hair the day of the appointment, dirty hair will hold those curls and up-dos longer and is easier to style. An alternative would be to apply a styling product to damp hair the morning of your appointment, ask your stylist which they prefer. Wear a button down shirt to your appointment to avoid having to pull anything over your head, you don’t want to undo the do.Have your bridal dress pressed if necessary before the appointment. Some bridal shops offer two cleanings with your purchase just for this reason. If you are heading outdoors for your pictures wear a heel that is higher than what you would wear on your wedding day. This will keep the bottom of your dress dirt free and if wearing them is a must, bring them with you and your photographer can incorporate them into the shoot. Bring your bouquet. A nice alternative to a fresh arrangement is silk. You can have one prepared pre-portrait by your florist to match your big day bouquet. You can use this as a prop for the bridal photos, as well as your toss bouquet, or place this in your home later with your other wedding memories.
